Job Purpose – Supporting Operations & Customer Experience
The General Assistant is responsible for providing high-quality operational and customer support throughout the facility. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness, supporting events and programmes, ensuring health and safety compliance, and delivering a professional front-of-house experience. Key Roles & Responsibilities at Modon
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the safety of customers, staff, visitors, and contractors at all times
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly statutory safety checks
- Follow all Health & Safety regulations, NOPs, and Emergency Operating Procedures
- Support incident management and report issues to the Duty Manager
Customer Service & Front-of-House
- Provide a warm and professional welcome to all customers
- Act as a point of contact for enquiries, feedback, and assistance
- Handle customer concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Support reception duties and maintain knowledge of programmes and events
Operations & Facility Support
- Assist with cleaning indoor and outdoor areas
- Set up and dismantle equipment for sessions and events
- Issue hired equipment and fleet bikes to customers
- Monitor lockers and bike storage areas
- Clean, inspect, and prepare equipment for reuse
Sales, Promotion & Outreach
- Confidently upsell products and services
- Support promotional activities and community outreach programmes
Teamwork & Professional Conduct
- Work collaboratively within a team
- Work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
- Participate in training and professional development

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required
Qualifications & Certifications
- Fluency in English (additional languages are an advantage)
- First Aid and Defibrillator training preferred
Experience & Competencies
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Experience in leisure, sports, or event-based environments
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and maintain high standards
